HARRISBURG – Rep. Dave Zimmerman (R-East Earl) announced that New Holland and Akron boroughs have been awarded $200,000 and $214,653 respectively in Small Water and Sewer Program grants. The grants will be used to upgrade clean water supply infrastructure resulting in better water quality and increased water supply to residents.

“This funding will allow New Holland and Akron boroughs to make much-needed repairs to their potable water infrastructure,” Zimmerman said. “I was proud to support these grants for our municipal governments so that they may provide clean and healthy water to area residents and I continue to fight for funding for the people of the 99th Legislative District.”

New Holland Borough Authority received $200,000 to construct a new well and water treatment facility to provide 720,000 gallons per day of potable water. The facility will be constructed to meet current stormwater management criteria. New Holland Borough Authority provides service to New Holland Borough, Earl Township, and East Earl Township.
